Instead of "Congress leading the way" I think that Congress is a reflection of the American people.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but 'the people' elect these guys.
There is only one person to blame for our mess, and he is in the mirror.

Good lord not another politics discussion

You know where I stand Dave...term limits for Congress is the only solution.

We elect them and the Washington old timer's pull them aside first day in office and give them the, "toe the party line or you get nothing for your home state" speech and business as usual continues....

Until the old guard in Washington is forced out party politics and business as usual will continue...

If everyone felt that way, then we wouldnt need term limits. The problem is the people, not the politicians.

And you started this.

From the day they are elected, its all about getting reelected. Everything these guys do is just stay in office as long as they can.

Honestly, They are truly under paid in the first place. Football players can make 200m a year... Honestly, Tax them more I mean shesh.. Is it necessary to have 20 high end sports cars and stuff anyways? Tax the super rich more and leave me alone! (no im not saying tax the businesses more) Just the extremely wealthy people..

Also, Most people blame Obama for things he actually did. I mean, What commander in chief doesn't pay respect to fallen veterans..
He also contradicts A LOT of what he says. I can't even watch his speeches anymore due to the fact one time he'll be strongly against a certain issue and than bam... changed his mind... BTW, did anyone know that he did openly accuse Pennsylvanians of being racists? He is starting the whole "your racist" BS.

Hmmm.... Jobs are bad blah blah... Let's make them HAVE to get medical insurance... (even though the bill contradics itself many times) It also says in the bill if you can't afford it you don't have to get it.

I'm sorry but, I'm tired of seeing people being used as puppets by congress... When is the time for an independent to take office and go their own way.. Tired of parties being swayed in the way of the other members. There was a poll taken a few years back couldn't find it at this time. over 85% of the democratic party said that they voted for certain issues just because the party was for it. I say BS to parties and have all independent people that stand up what they personally think is right.

Oh ya, and the fact that they openly gave a date of troop withdraws which in turn give the insurgents something to fight for so mission will not be complete. If you look at the tension in afgan after the announcement it went extremely up. They know they can fight till we leave.

The way things are going we are bound to hit another civil war.
Consider that President Clinton didn't come into office with remotely similar Congressional problems yet faced an historic change in his first mid term election.
